Our Patrol

Purpose of our patrol:

  1. Protect people

  2. Protect Property

  3. Protect information  

To prevent and discourage crime through high visibility patrol. Be conspicuous. The mere sight of our security officer and patrol unit will help discourage and deter a potential violator from breaking a law.

To report suspicious activity and criminal activity to our local Sheriff Dept

 

Our officers are trained to use their Five Senses

 

Sight:

  1. Be observant

  2. Check for unusual conditions.

Hearing:

  1. Check for unusual sounds and investigate their source.

  2. Examples include running water, smashing glass, malfunctioning equipment.

Smell:

  1. Examples include smoke, gas, overheated machinery.

Touch:

  1. Air Currents/Wind

  2. Temperature Changes

  3. Feel Doors/Objects

Taste:

  1. Use it with caution!

General Patrol Responsibilities:

  1. The most effective method of securing a site when all personnel have left is patrolling.

  2. It is an accepted fact that each site differs from the next, therefore setting check points, procedures, patrolling routes and duration also vary.

  3. Make sure the area is secure from intrusion.

  4. Turn off equipment when operation is not indicated.

  5. Check for unusual conditions.

  6. Check for unusual sounds and investigate their source.

  7. Do not patrol according to a predictable set pattern.

  8. Violators should not ab able to predict where you may be at a given date or time.

  9. If they learn your routine they will adapt their criminal actions accordingly.

  10. Check for unusual odors.

  11. Check for damage.

  12. Check for running water.

  13. Check all security processes.

  14. Check storage of flammable substances.

  15. Report/Record.

Seven Basic Patrol Principles:

  1. Ensure the perimeter is secure.

  2. Patrol in a methodical and organized fashion.

  3. Change your Routine.

  4. Look for safety or security hazards,

  5. Record all activity in your officers’ report system.

  6. Think about what you are doing.

  7. Make sure you are properly equipped.

 

Basic Patrol Principles:

When in doubt call/ inform the Supervisor:

  1. Do not leave your suspicions unreported.

  2. Unreported suspicions may result in property loss, property damage, personal injury, and even death.

  3. Patrol reports must be completed for each patrol and then submitted.
